How to check Ethereum block hash?
Ethereum blockchain is fully transparent for every user. Because of that, crypto gambling is provably fair — its results depend solely on Ethereum protocol. You can also check the process of winner selection by finding the next hash function. To do so, you need to follow these steps:
Step 1. Firstly, you need to sign in with your Metamask wallet. Click the Sign In button in the top right corner. Ethex will ask you to authorize it in your wallet.
Click Sign in the pop-up message.
Step 2. Start the game on the main page.
Now pay attention to the last block mined header. It is the hash returned from generating a Merkle tree that matches current Ethereum network difficulty. In other words, the block header is a unique combination of numbers and letters, which is based on previous blocks. That is why no one can change this combination at will.
Step 3. Guess the last symbols of the next block hash. Place your bet.
Confirm it in the pop-up window and pray for luck!
Step 4. Wait while a new block is mining. How to make sure that you will receive your prize in case of winning? It’s simple — you send your bet to a contract which will return you a certain amount of ETH under a certain condition (if your bet will match symbols in block hash).
You can check contract properties using Ethereum blockchain explorer (Etherscan for example). Contract address can be found in your Metamask wallet. Copy contract address (highlighted on a screenshot) and paste it in Etherscan search field.
If you have doubts, check the contract source code.
Click Contract button to get access to it.
Etherscan also provides information about all block hashes. You can compare them with hashes, displayed on Ethex.
Step 5. Hooray! Your guess just got you free coins!
The winning block will be displayed on Ethex main page.
